2013 Rivers-Marie Occidental Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir

This is arguably the most complete of the ’13s at release.  Aromatically explosive, the high acid profile of this site expresses itself in a combination of red and black fruits, Asian spice, pennyroyal mint and licorice.  We continue to be impressed by the progress of this site and all the potential it has realized the last several years.  We think of ourselves personally as volume drinkers and the refreshing, mouth watering character of this site encourages multiple glasses as the wine unwinds.  We once again employed 10% whole cluster to give the wine a bit more breadth and aromatic complexity.  This vintage holds plenty in reserve but the greatness is undeniable.
